It’s raining pretty heavily at the moment, so Chris and I are taking a break from moving Chris’s stuff into his new apartment. It has been a day of heavy lifting — with more to come after the rain subsides. (Shout-out to Jenny and Niki: hope everything’s going well in moving Jenny into her new apartment!) In the meantime, yet another picture from back in the day… my mom and me, September 1981:

What is that picture on her shirt? It looks like a plate of Hamburger Helper with a can in the middle of it, and a kid to the side reaching out for the can and smiling with a open mouth.
We moved! Yeah! Of course, the space is much smaller, so I have been getting Jenny to purge stuff. But she is such a packrat. But this house is in a nicer neighborhood and is just a nicer house. So kudos to her. Plus it’s a month-to-month lease, so if she gets tired of it, she can move easily.
By the way, you look adorable in that picture.
Okay, we’re off to her parents’ house to pick up her clothes since they were all DIRTY and she has to pick them up.

Actually, it’s a can of beer surrounded by (I think) a bunch of flowers.
My mom was a bartender until I was 6, so we always had all these shirts advertising various spirits, because she got them for free.

Good luck. Purge, Jenny, purge!! You know, whenever I feel like I’m a packrat, all I have to do is pay a visit to Jenny… ;-)
You know I love you, dear.
(But I don’t love you.)

Yeah I know… what happened? ;-)

Why am I not surprised?
Hmm, perhaps I should add a quote feature to my comments, what with all these crazy italics goin’ on!
I also thought they were flowers, but the can didn’t make sense. Not that it makes more sense the other way.
You’re still adorable, silly. You just have to wear more outfits like that one in the picture.
Ooh yeah, gotta love that knockout stylin’ attire from K-Mart in the early 80s! Hot!
