I know, I know

Well, Pat just informed me that my blog looks like shit in Firefox and IE. Silly me, when I removed the table last night I only checked it in Safari. There’s some issues with clearing the floats. I’ll get to it when I can. In the meantime… scroll, scroll, scroll!

It looked fine in Firefox when I left that earlier comment. This blog has been cursed!

Looks fine in this firefox window…

Actually, it looks fine in Firefox for me, too. But on Pat’s machine it has all this extra space. It’s totally fucked in IE, but I don’t care.

I’m looking at it from IE at work, and it looks fine to me. :( Maybe Pat’s machine just has some issues it needs to work out on its own.

I’m reading in work-imposed IE and I have to scroll. Just so you know.

Fugged up in Firefox for Linux. First entry shows at top, but have to scroll past the sidebar for the rest.

Yep, that’s what was happening on Pat’s machine. We think it has to do with the fact that I clear floats in each entry (the timetamp and category are both floated), and it’s getting over-enthusiastic and clearing the float for the sidebar, too.

In IE it’s just because of IE’s stupid fux0red box model. It needs some good ol’ Tan Hack action, probably.

Is this comment geeky enough yet?

Same problem with me in Firefox for Windoze: one post at the top, lots of scrolling to get to the rest.

If I knew what the fuck you were talking about– Actually, I guess that makes it geeky enough. Geek.

Well, I can’t figure it out, and I’ve lost my patience for now, so I’m kludging it back up with a table until I can figure it out.

I don’t even *really* clear the floats in each entry… I use the clearfix method from Position Is Everything.

    Oh and Niki: touché ;)

  11. Jen says:

    It’s fixed! Whatever you did..

  12. Amber says:

Well, like I said, I kludged it back with a table. My goal is to not have any tables. So, it appears fixed, but it’s just held together with gum and bailing wire.
