Holy shit, I can see your whole blog at once.

  2. Niki says:

Um… I’m in IE at work and besides the sidebar and the title, all I’m getting is:

Could not determine if comments are allowed because: You have an error in your SQL syntax. Check the manual that corresponds to you MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near” at line 1.

    Uh…

  3. Niki says:

Okay, I refreshed the page and everything is visible. Strangeness.

  4. Amber says:

Yeah. I just fixed - I mean hacked - it. You just happened to hit the page right as I was in the middle of doing so.

  5. Niki says:

Good to know we’re both piddling around when we should be working. :)

  6. Amber says:

Yeah, and you know all I’m going to want to do today is work on my blog. The fact of its fux0red-ness is going to gnaw at my J-preference until I get it figured out and corrected!

  7. Garrett says:

Um, instead of “File under: Geeky”, shouldn’t that say “File under: Ridiculously transparent plugs”?

Either you unknowingly pasted in someone else’s referral link (and are thus helping them make money by pasting it in your blog) or you added a referral of your own and are trying to make money surreptitiously suggesting books to people.

    We want to know

  8. Niki says:

Or she just put in a book she liked that she found wuth a linik to a place where you can read more about it.

  9. Niki says:

And I obviously can’t spell today. I blame my roommate and her incessant yakking on the phone that kept me up until 1am. Grr. Fuck this. I’m going to sleep.

  10. Amber says:

Uh, Garrett, I don’t know what you’re talking about. I saw a post about that book on another blog (I think it was Backup Brain) and I wanted to comment on the fact that I’m glad such a book finally exists and I figured I’d put a link to it. If it’s a referral link I didn’t know that. You give me too much credit. I’m not THAT underhanded. :o

  11. Garrett says:

    People, people, calm down.

    That’s why the following:

Either you unknowingly pasted in someone else’s referral link

was my first thought. I didn’t accuse anyone of underhandedness; I just noted that one of the two had to be true. Amazon referral links don’t just magically attach themselves to URLs. Many popular forums cite the undisclosed use of affiliate links in casual conversation as grounds for rejection of posts.

As I said Wednesday, I know you had nothing to do with it. SOMEONE is trying to make money off their Amazon links without telling the readers about it. It’s just not you. I can still complain about it if I want. ;)
