Brute force is teh hawtness

Here’s your “doh!” quote of the day:

I think one of the reasons semantic HTML and CSS comes off as confusing, complicated, and more difficult than other methodologies is that it creates a multi-layered environment. With tables for layout, your content and your presentation are all in one place, but with CSS layouts, you might have multiple cascading style sheets, and inheritance - not to mention the general abstraction that’s required.

There’s a word I’m looking for to describe this. Like counter-intuitive, only stupider.

Well, it is somewhat true. I grew up learning to program in Basic and Logo and several other linear programming languages. It made OO Languages harder for me to learn, and they came off confusing, complicated, and more difficult than other methodologies.

They’re also better. That’s all the quote leaves out. :)
