The other night, the GDBF and I were interviewed on the Cup o’ Joe radio show - supposedly the first in a series of shows featuring Georgia bloggers. You can listen to it here - but not until I give you a quick disclaimer.
- I’ve realized that when I’m put on the spot, I tend to go through some kind of intellectual regression and speak only in clichés. In the case of this show, my drinking-game-worthy use of words and phrases such as “society,” “the media,” “sex-negative,” “predefined standard,” and so on kind of make me want to die. Seriously, folks, I’m a lot smarter than I sound - I just did a really poor job of conveying the smart thoughts in my head to the spoken medium.
- Apparently I am a “fairly attractive woman.” Fairly? Ha!
Alright. You can listen to it now. Maybe I should stick to writing!

Looks like blogspot is down for the moment, but you can stream the show by clicking here.
And I agree, “fairly” attractive is inappropriate: you are an extremely attractive woman, however you have to understand that your boyfriend was right there, and I didn’t want to make it sound like I was coming on to you!
I’m exactly 3:41 into it. Going together? Is that what it’s called now? That sounds dirty.
The Joe Vecchio stream keeps crapping out on me, and since my iTunes library is alphabetized by artist, iTunes wastes no time moving onto “Any Way You Want It” at full volume. Could be worse, I suppose.
You and Rusty are both so articulate. I enjoy listening to each of you. You should come up with your own podcast.
Totally podcast. This guy asked me to do it too, maybe I should email him again… perhaps he has forgotten about me, because he found cooler bloggers….
I haven’t forgotten about anyone, but it has been a rather hectic week or so. I only want to interview two at a time because any more than that gets a little confusing.
I’ll be getting with people as the week progresses.
Joe,
Point taken. I just thought it was funny. ;)
Tony,
Well, I think that’s what it was called by a generation prior to ours. My mom says “going together” and she is closer to Joe’s age than he is to mine. Anyway, I am really disappointed that I didn’t seize the opportunity at the time to make some witty remark like, “Going together? More like coming..!!1! Together if we’re lucky!!1!” or something. Only it would be funnier than that. Yes it would.
Joseph,
Thanks for the compliment! Of course, I still think I sound like a broken record of cliches, but Rusty says I’m too hard on myself. As for the radio show idea, the idea has been bandied about. So just wait and see, I s’pose.
Duane,
You should do it! Alyssa wants to do it too. I’m definitely looking forward to the next in the Georgia blogger interview series!
I’m planning on giving it a listen tonight - I know it’ll be entertaining. And he contacted me about it, too! :)
You know, I’m getting such great positive feedback from the interviews I might try to have at least one fellow blogger on every show, kind of a rotating co-host type of deal. I like having people to talk to, it makes the show go by that much quicker…
