I am so glad this is a three-day weekend. I really needed some time off - and although this weekend certainly hasn’t been all ass-sitting, it’s still nice not to have to get up for work on Monday morning.
Actually, it’s been a pretty busy weekend, up until today. Friday night Rusty and I went to see Vicki Blankenship’s Indiegrrl Showcase at Eddie’s Attic. Even though we got there late, we were still able to take in a lot of awesomeness. And I bought two CDs, because I’m all about supporting independent musicians. Not coincidentally, you can also hear my interview with Vicki on the Georgia Podcast Network.
Saturday morning I had to get up early to get my hair did at 9:30. At 10:30 Rusty did a Skype interview w/ an independent candidate for governor. Skype rocks my socks.
After that it was off to lunch at the Brickstore Pub, where we did another interview (seriously, we have been a couple of interviewin’ fools lately) with a porn dude, which will hopefully be available later this week. Then we took in some of the Decatur Arts Festival until we realized it was just too damn hot to be out walking around. Rusty got a few photos, though.
Saturday night was the Doll Squad’s Spring Fling show at Smith’s - and guess what, that coincides w/ another interview we did. Unfortunately, we had to suffer through two crappy bands beforehand, and so it was almost 12:30 by the time the Doll Squad actually started their show. Which meant we weren’t able to stay for the entire thing, because we’re old fogies. That pissed us off, because we wanted to see it, but I don’t understand why everything has to start so goddamn late. It’s like the shows at the 40 Watt in Athens… there is no need to wait until the middle of the goddamn night. It would be just as cool at 9:00 p.m.
Yesterday was back to the Decatur Arts Festival again, where Rusty scored some interviews while I sat in Starbucks appreciating the AC. And… well, now this recap has gotten way too long, which should give you an idea of our weekend overall. And now, I must go put away my laundry and do some cleaning; then I’ll have earned the right to lie on the couch watching Grey’s Anatomy on Tivo.

Haha. 9:00pm. You are a bunch of old fogies. Ever since I started living with college students again, I realize that 9:00pm is early. Things don’t really even begin until 10:00pm. Of course, now that they’re all gone for the summer… I’ll probably be the old fogey I know I am and be crawling into bed by 10 or 11 instead of 1 or 2.
Hey, just because you’re younger than Jenny and me for another month doesn’t mean you can fool us with your spring-chicken act!
Grey’s Anatomy rocks my socks. I hate that its off until Fall. But I’ll just console myself with having Season 1 on DVD and pounce on Season 2 the second it comes out. :)
