Mainstream, schmainstream

You can make fun all you want, but the fact of the matter is, I love Christina Aguilera’s “Fighter.” Those lyrics kick ass. And I also think it would be an awesome song to pole dance to. (To which… Shut up, grammarians.)

Oh! And the next song that just came up on my iPod after that one? Liz Phair’s “Mesmerizing,” another personal favorite.

Mtani, I totally have your back on this one. Female empowerment just rocks, and she sings well on it.

Agreed, don’t know of a song of hers I particularly dislike, in fact.

Who would make fun? Christina rocks.

I’ve always preferred Xtina to Britney (okay, that’s not *much* of a contest, but anyway), and I may be the only one, but I like her “pin up” and/or “Marilyn-esque” look.

i’ve grinded many a pole to xtina. usually it’s the genie song (still! 2006!),not “fighter”. must say, though, britney’s “slave for you” is easier to dance to!

Yay for the guilty-pleasure love going around here! I lurve Xtina, and “Fighter” is my favorite song of hers. I agree, Amber, that the lyrics are kick-ass.

And Mercedes, you just brought back memories of nights spent slinking around a pole to “Slave 4 U.” What a fun song to dance to!
