24% lady You tend to make up your own rules of etiquette, throwing all conventions aside.

    I’m 24% too. I wonder what I did with the other 76%.

  2. 15 Aug 2006 at 7:37 am Amber

I don’t know, Niki, but I am shocked by your behavior.

I am 64% Lady. does that mean I’m 36% gentleman?

  4. 15 Aug 2006 at 11:52 am RenegadeEvolution

27%, apparently the rest of me is all ‘ho.

  5. 15 Aug 2006 at 5:57 pm Audacity

    bwah!

    You Are 16% Lady

You’re a pretty crass, and even a bit crude on occasion.

Manners don’t matter to you, but they sure matter to those around you.

Yeah. Etiquette is soooooooooo important to me. Excuse me while I pick my underwear out of my ass.

Excuse me while I pick my underwear out of my ass.

    :D Quote-of-the-day potential there!

Your most recent email (you know the one) also had several choice quotes in it, liberally peppered with 4-letter words, of course.

    You need a blog, woman!

And you have no excuse. You have ME at your (virtual) disposal! (mental images…)

  10. 16 Aug 2006 at 1:00 am Niki

You have ME at your (virtual) disposal! (mental images…)

But luckily not literal disposal, because that would just be wrong.

  11. 16 Aug 2006 at 1:11 am jt

No, Amber. My excuse is that I would want everything on my blog to be witty or insightful, and I know that’s not possible. (Berate the absurdity of that as you will.)

Additionally, I would inevitably end up with recurring themes that, though I would never deny them, I’m not thrilled with fully embracing them in a public sphere. These aren’t the big, impactful issues like abuse, sexuality, politics (because I know you thought I was shy about my politics), or any life-altering, introspective issues. I’m generally an open book on those.

What I’m shying away from sharing are the things that, ironically, are some of my favorites – the guilty pleasures. Shall we just say, I don’t need a blog with a regularly updated section on Craig Ferguson. None of us want to see that.

As the fates would have it, I can’t seem to finish this post (which I started 45 minutes ago) because said person’s show began. The bastard.

    SEE.

And since I don’t have a blog, would everyone please just read Between the Bridge and the River already. It’s a damn good book.

    End: usurping of the blog.

  12. 16 Aug 2006 at 7:29 am Amber

    Blah, blah, blah.

    :)

I seem to remember something in a recent email from you about how you were going to “just write” – something like that.

Shall we just say, I don’t need a blog with a regularly updated section on Craig Ferguson. None of us want to see that.

Oh, I absolutely want to see that! And posts about NASCAR too…

  13. 16 Aug 2006 at 4:18 pm Ken

    Hey! I’m 24% lady also.

  14. 16 Aug 2006 at 4:21 pm jt

    Bitch.

    You asked for it…

Kristin Chenowith sang the national anthem at Sunday’s NASCAR race. Kristin Chenowith. KRISTIN CHENOWITH! Tony Award, winning Broadway star Kristin Chenowith sang the national anthem after the prayer to Jesus for a safe race and thanks for the great racing weather.

    NASCAR meets Broadway.

Okay, your baiting me is just plain mean. I need to stop now because this is a dissertation in the making for me. A begrudged and horrified dissertation for a Masters in Public Policy that I will never get.

Though eventually I need to either just give up and go full-fledged into politics or give up and go live in a place where I don’t fundamentally disagree with the system of government.

Hussy. How dare you exploit my weaknesses. Wench.

Did you ever take the “How Scorpio are You ?” one, Amber? I’m only 60 percent Scorpio, which sounds wrong to me based on everything I’ve read or heard.

    Meanwhile, I am %36 lady.

  16. 17 Aug 2006 at 3:50 pm Amber

    Jared,

Well, now I’ve taken it! I was 67% Scorpio. I guess that’s about right… some of the questions were worded kind of strangely. Probably the main things that got me docked points are that I’m not a very jealous person and I don’t consider myself “secretive.” Also I had to really pay attention to what I was checking, because they were seemingly random about whether they’d put true or false as the first choice.

Here’s the link to the quiz, for any other Scorpios out there who want to take it.

Btw… when is your birthday? Mine is Oct. 30th.

  17. 18 Aug 2006 at 2:30 pm Jared

    Mine is Nov. 3.

Thanks for the plug, Amber – I didn’t notice it until just now, because I’m not automatically notified of my trackbacks.

Odd that I should get mentioned in a “Carnival of Feminists” blog, since I don’t even call myself a feminist, but looking at some of your links, I feel like I’m in good company.

    Cheers,
