Interview with Atlanta Cupcake Factory owner

Back in August, when Rusty and I were staying at The Highland Inn while our AC was on the fritz (the first time around, that is), we discovered that the Atlanta Cupcake Factory had just opened up next door. Given our predicament, we figured we deserved to treat ourselves. We also talked to the owner, who said she was “experimenting” with a retail location, and was planning to keep the store open only one or two days a week.

Six months later, business is booming, and there’s a lengthy interview up with owner Jamie Fahey at Cupcakes Take the Cake. My only problem with the Atlanta Cupcake Factory, and a lot of cupcakes in general, is that the cupcakes are almost too beautiful to eat. (Almost.)

Okay, I find it very odd that you happened to post this on the same day that my Real Simple issue arrived (love that magazine, don’t care if I get made fun of) and they mention cupcakestakethecake in it. I’d never heard of the site, and the two seemingly very separate source point me to it. You know what that means right? Someone get me some ooey gooey chocolatey cupcakes, quick!

You won’t get made fun of (not by me, anyway). I have a subscription to Real Simple! :)

Oh good, as do I, I think almost since the beginning of the magazine. Call it a vice. If only I could have a home as picture perfect as the ones that grace its pages. :)

    Love my Real Simple.

I am a cupcake connoisseur but I do not love the Cupcake Factory offerings. We ordered several dozen here at work for a birthday celebration, and while they are beautiful and they have interesting flavors, I just wanted a perfect plain vanilla cupcake with buttercream frosting and I couldn’t find anything like that. I guess I’m cupcake old skool.

I love my Real Simple, too! And now I have an excuse to read it at work… we just got a subscription to do some research on a new client we just acquired. :)

    And, oooh, yummy cupcakes!
