Unlike other physicians, many psychiatrists see a majority of self-paying patients so it is less economically necessary for them to invest in the back office staff to file claims and make sure they get paid. They are only too happy to push the job onto you.

I personally think it is ridiculous to go into a profession that requires you to take insurance, and then not file it for your patients. LAZY.

As for the meds, I really hope that Lexapro works for you. I stopped taking Welbutrin because I felt like it was making me feel all wonky, but I still take the Effexor (which I have no idea if it really works or not). I can bet that you are probably having a bit of depression, since it can be caused by anxiety (like mine). Big hugs, and I hope that you are feeling better soon. We struggle on together!

When I was going through my brief bout with anxiety, I was put on Lexapro. I didn't notice any nausea. The only side effect I noticed was that the first few days I was really, really jittery and wired (kinda like drinking 4 cups of coffee more than you're used to) but that subsided within about 4 or 5 days.

I can't say that the Lexapro worked for me but, then again, the anxiety did dissipate.

Good luck, Amber. I know this stuff isn't any fun.
