WAM wrap-up coming

WAM was so so so much fun and so inspiring. I will write a wrap-up post soon. I meant to do it today, but then I wrecked my car for the second time in a week and I feel like a fucking moron and I spent a large portion of the afternoon crying profusely and freaking out. Currently we are waiting for USAA to call Rusty back, because when he called them earlier their computers were down. If we don’t hear from them tonight, he’ll call back in the morning. Then we’ll have to get my car towed to the Nissan dealership where I keep thinking they’re going to make fun of me, and the insurance adjuster will have to come look at it, and I’ll pay the deductible and hopefully not much more.

But god I feel so stupid.

Anyway now I need to get ready to go to pole dancing class. Rusty says exercise will make me feel better… so I’m going. I hope it helps.

And I’m trying to concentrate on the joy that was WAM.

Eh, I wrecked my car 3 times in 3 months about a year ago. It sucks but it happens. You might not want to get it towed to the dealership, though, since your ins. co. may have you send it straight to the body shop. I used Classic Collision for all 3 of my accidents and they did a great job and were pre-approved by my ins. co. They have locations all over town too and are usually pretty fast with the repairs. When you take it to the dealership they usually farm it out to their preferred body shops as well rather than doing it in-house.

I’ll take it wherever USAA tells me to take it. I just figured the dealership bc it’s brand new. Rusty is going to call USAA again tomorrow morning.

    Amber,

Very glad you are not hurt. And no, you are not stupid. You are under a lot of stress, especially with Sex 2.0 around the corner. Also, it takes time to get used to a new car, just knowing how fast it can accelerate when you are merging, how the steering responds, or the turning radius.

I don’t know if you even considered this, but you are taking a new medication. Like driving a new car, it takes some time to get used to it. Some side effects disappear. Others don’t. And if you still taking Wellbutrin, the combination with Lexapro may be causing some problems. Another thing to consider is the discontinuation syndrome from cutting back on any antidepressant that you have been taking for a while.

So don’t be so hard on yourself.

Those are both good points. I took awhile to get used to my new car, which accelerates much faster than my old one. I still sometimes accidentally squeal tires accelerating from a complete stop. And if the new meds are leaving you feeling fuzzy they may be delaying your reflexes or otherwise affecting your perception just a little while you adjust.

An accident is an upsetting thing, but not a reason to beat yourself up. It happens to everyone.
