“I feel that the poledancing stripper and the burlesque artist of today are equally the descendants of the classic burlesque dancer of the 1950’s, though they have evolved in very different directions.” And then there’s also pole dancing as an art form.

“It will absolutely fucking horrify her to learn that actually, a few women have emailed me and asked me to clarify what feminism actually ‘is’, and have also asked for a suggested reading list. Naturally, I point them straight to the Suicide Girls.” LOL!

“If you ask it that way it’s kind of an odd question, isn’t it? I mean we’re basically sexual all the time. We just aren’t always acting on our sexual desires. But we are not without our sexuality.” I will blog about this more after Sex 2.0 is over.

“If Jane has to handle all those issues in addition to her own job and doing PR for her partner Pat’s job, while Pat focuses primarily on Pat’s job, that’s not necessarily ideal for Jane.”

“It was probably inevitable. The historic contest between a woman and an African-American for the presidential nomination is now all about white men.”

PoleLaTeaz in the Sunday Paper again. I’m glad they are getting so much press. But, just as last time, the Sunday Paper’s write-up is pretty pathetic. It doesn’t do PoleLaTeaz justice, in my not-so-humble opinion.

“That said, daily life has been busy for one really big, exciting reason: I’m getting ready to go to the Sex 2.0 conference in Atlanta, Georgia this weekend. My inner sex geek is salivating!”

“Even if we agree on the issues and stand on the same ground holding the same positions, we’ve each arrived there in our own ways which includes our individual experiences & reasonings. And I think that’s what makes for such interesting talk radio.”

“I am newly gainfully employed, and it’s pretty much my dream job: I’m editing a brand spanking new sexuality blog for Village Voice Media. It’s called Naked City, and it went live this morning.”

“What would an adult woman have done in her place? Are all women now supposed to take extreme care not to have a miscarriage in any public place, because should that happen someone will call in the homicide investigators?”

Wish I could come to Sex 2.0 (which is what provoked my reaction at the conference, “Atlanta! Why the hell isn’t it in San Francisco!”). It sounds like a lot of fun. Just curious — are you getting any sense of the demographic of attendees at this stage?
Heh, and you know what my response to that was… I’m sick of everything being in San Francisco or New York!
I can’t say that I really have a firm sense of demographics. I know a lot of the people who are coming, and they’re mainly tech-savvy people in their 20s and 30s… but there are a lot of people coming who I have no idea who they are. That’s exciting!
