Quickie

I think all this talk of “ask permission before you link to someone’s blog” is fairly ridiculous. That’s not how the internet works. And especially for blog carnivals? That would take forever. I think the people who are asking have never put together a blog carnival.

    Yeah, I didn’t quite understand that one either. Stealing someone’s writing, sure. But pointing to the writing? That’s like publishing a book and telling people they can’t mention it to anyone.

    LOL, I hate this too. I wonder sometimes if it isn’t just a veiled attempt to draw attention to the fact that you are linking. I’ve had people say, “Oh, mind if I add you to my blogroll?” I think the implication is to announce it so that I’ll feel obligated to add them back. Maybe I’m just paranoid.
