  • This is wonderful, hilarious, and spot on.
(But don't bother reading the comments. They're depressingly clueless.)
  • “For instance, he complained about the 'noise factor' on Twitter which is an argument I’m tired of hearing. If your sole/primary reason for using Twitter is business and you are getting too much 'noise' in your Twitterstream, you are following the wrong people. This isn’t a problem with Twitter; it’s user error. Frankly, I like a mix. Reading tweets from people who only publicize their start-up activities, marketing strategies or political positions doesn’t interest me. Big whoop! Including 'noise' from interesting people about their daily life activities adds value to my social network experience because it helps me to understand who they are."
  • More good advice, from Joan! This is more related to escorting whereas Ren's post is more about stripping.
"Pay attention to the kind of listener this person is on the phone. Pay attention to whether he respects conversational boundaries. A man who says 'it’ll only take a few minutes' when you say you need to get off the phone is a man who feels entitled to try and make you do what you don’t want to do. Maybe it sounds paranoid or over-reactive. I am speaking from years of experience of talking to men on the phone prior to meeting them alone for sex related stuff. A man who pushes you in conversation will push you in person. It’s what he likes to do. Me, personally, I do not like to be fucking pushed on by dudes, so I don’t see this type of fellow. I don’t care that most are just dicks and not serial killers."
  • Good advice from Ren!
  • "That said, why not also question the fundamental assumptions of this bias? Consider what you think the problem with promiscuity is and ask yourself if there is any real grounding for it. Even if bisexuals (or any category of people) were more promiscuous, why is that threatening to you?"
