		<description>Same thing happens when you call the various utility and credit card companies about billing problems, etc.  Some of that stuff is in his name, some is in mine, and we can&#039;t even remember which ones.  We both call, give the other&#039;s name, and we are asked &quot;are you MR ___?&quot; or &quot;are you MRS___?&quot; and we get service.  They have no way of knowing if we really are legally married or not, except that we have all the necessary account/SS numbers.  But see, a soprano voice claiming to be a woman&#039;s wife, or a baritone voice claiming to be a man&#039;s husband, would not (and is not) given such automatic leeway.

Countless privileges with marriage, and heterosexuals would have a FIT if they were taken away.  When they say &quot;what is the big deal?&quot;--I often wonder if they are even paying attention to their own lives...</description>
