That said, this tradition spans many cultures and as such will have a variety of origins real and mythologized including the mimicry of female menstruation especially when said male circumcision takes place around the boy’s puberty. You can use a bit of an open mind. Go study some history and don’t be so quick to dismiss simply because you can’t imagine it.
