Email annoyances

Until further notice, anyone who needs to email me should do so at my Gmail address, instead of my gapodcastnetwork.com or tangerinecs.com address. The latter two are forwarding-only addresses that forward to Gmail, but because of the reasons outlined here, it’s been taking hours or days for me to get messages sent to either of those addresses. That being said, if you’ve sent me any emails in the past few days and I haven’t responded, this is probably the explanation. (Or, laziness on my part.)

Seriously

How is it that there are still people who refuse to use “Reply to all?” It’s not brain surgery, people.

Turkish Delight

Check out the awesome spam I got this morning:

Dear Madam or Sir ;

We are an importer company in Turkey and looking for sheep intestinal
(catgut).
We Want to buy big quantities of sheep intestinal (catgut).
If you can supply please contact us by e-mail.

Best Regards.

Well, it’s their lucky day! I just happen to have a truckload of sheep intestinal (catgut) lying around. But shipping it to Turkey might be difficult…

Great

I can’t log in to my speedpost email account, again. This is the second time this has happened in the past ~3 weeks… this time apparently it’s some kind of IMAP error; last time my account had been mysteriously “suspended” by accident (an automated check via their support site restored everything). This is annoying, as I am expecting a few fairly important emails. I’ve been using speedpost for a while and all the important people (ie, my friends) have that address… but I think it might be time to seriously consider switching to gmail. (Hey, all the cool kids are doing it!)

More later, including (but not limited to) my review of the Dave Attell show (you will notice that he holds the honor of current “Quote of the Day/Week/However Long I Feel Like Keeping It Up”), and a long-ass response in the comments section of my previous entry.

OMG I have 40 messages in my UGA email account (which I never use) this morning!! They’re all from Postmaster@milgrp.com, and all have ‘Delivery Failure Notice’ in the subject line. Mail.app has colored them all light brown for Junk Mail; and indeed, they look like spam:

I was surprised, too!

Who_could_suspect_something_like_that? shityiiiii
